Am I eligible for Skills First Funding?

  • Your eligibility cannot be determined until you have placed an application and undergone the Pre Training Review process and been made an Offer to study, once Accepted into the course our Student Administration team will be able to determine your eligibility at time of enrolment. This depends on whether you meet the Victorian Government's eligibility criteria for Skills First Funding. Can I complete the course faster?

  • Our courses have a set training plan for each course, however you may be able to discuss a fast-paced option during your Pre Training Review after you apply.

What does 'blended learning' mean?

  • Blended learning means that both on-campus attendance and online self-direct learning are required.

Can I defer my offer?

  • Unfortunately if you are unable to take up your Offer, you will need to Decline it and re-apply for the next intake when it is available.

Am I enrolled after I complete my application for a full qualification?

  • No, once we receive your completed application Customer Experience will be in contact in regards to the next steps, this will entail an invitation from our LLN Robot Assessment tool. Once all course application requirements are completed, your application will be forwarded to our Pre Training Review team who will be in contact to discuss your application and suitability in the course, if successful you will be made a course Offer which you will then need to complete your Enrolment. Your enrolment is not considered complete until you have Accepted your offer and organised your payment.

The system says I’m 'Qualified' or 'Qualified with Conditions', what does this mean?

  • ‘Qualified’ and Qualified with Conditions’ is an internal term used in our system, this means your application has been assessed and progressed, ‘Qualified with Conditions’ often means we will require your Identification documents prior to completing your Enrolment if you are offered a spot in the course. Your application is still progressing.

Can I get RPL or CT for a course?

  • You may apply for RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) or CT (Credit Transfer) towards your course, these should be mentioned in your Course Application and should be discussed during your Pre Training Review.

What happens after I submit my online application?

  • For a full qualification:- Once you successfully submit your course application, Customer Experience will assess it and email you the next step, this will be an LLN Assessment invitation, and for courses under the Community Services & Health training department, an Application Requirements and Questionnaire link.
    Once you complete the application requirements your application will be forwarded to our Pre Training Review team who will be in contact to discuss your application and suitability in the course, if successful you will be made a course Offer which you will then need to complete your Enrolment. Your enrolment is not considered complete until you have Accepted your offer and organised your payment.
  • For a short course:- Once you successfully complete your application, you will be required to pay online (for most courses), once you submit your payment and accept the Terms and Conditions you will receive an email confirming your enrolment details.
    For courses that do not require online payment, a Wodonga TAFE staff member will be in contact to discuss your application and take payment.

What is the expected application time-frame from start to finish?

  • Our Customer Experience team will get back to you within 48 hours of your initial contact. From that point we will determine a course of action based on your level of study. The Pre Training Review team will then get in touch with you and provide an outcome within a brief time-frame.

How do I know how much the course will cost me?

  • Fees advertised on the Wodonga TAFE website are indicative only and cannot be confirmed until time of enrolment where your eligibility is determined.

I have a Health Care Card or Pension Care Card, do I get a reduced rate?

  • Current and Valid Concession Cards are only applicable if you are eligible for Skills First Funding.

What is the difference between a part-time course and a full-time course?

  • This is determined based on the amount of days/hours you will be required to attend class combined with your own self-paced learning.

Can I get a payment plan on a short course?

  • No. Conditions apply for payment plans, please contact our Customer Experience team for more details, phone 1300 698 233, or read more about this on our 'Method of Fee Payment' webpage. 

When can I expect a course commencement date and what days am I meant to be in class?

  • Once you are offered a place in the course and your enrolment is completed, you will be provided an approved training plan.

What are the three different fee scales?

  • Fee for Service – Full cost of course with no subsidised fees
  • Government Funded – If you are eligible for Skills First Funding. For more information or to check your eligibility visit the Victorian Skills Gateway website.
  • Concession – If you meet the Skills First Funding criteria AND hold a current and valid concession card

What is a VET Student Loan?

  • The VET Student Loans program assists eligible students pay tuition fees for approved higher-level vocational education and training (VET) courses. This funding is provided by the Australian Government. For more information visit our VET Student Loans webpage

Can I get payment assistance?

Where can I find information about term dates?

  • While most course timetables at Wodonga TAFE follow the Victorian school term dates and holidays, this may vary with some courses. Please check your training plan or your trainer for the dates that apply for your course.
